How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is always free. We just ask that your order meets the minimum spend of £15. Normally, if you’re ordering meat, you’d need to spend at least £15 on meat alone – but over summer (June to August), we’ve removed that requirement. So you can add any amount of meat to your order and still get free delivery as long as your total spend is £15 or more.
Do I need to be in when you deliver?
You don’t need to be at home. In fact, more than 70% of customers are out when we deliver. Deliveries are made by your local vegman/lady (not a courier), who works on a ’round’ basis on a set day to maximise efficiency and reduce food miles. If you have a regular order, you’ll often find delivery is around the same time each week – traffic and weather permitting. To check when your box will arrive, use the Riverford app for a two-hour delivery window, live updates, and a notification when it’s delivered – or visit your ‘Delivery information’ page on the website.
Do I have to order every week?
You can choose to have a delivery on whichever weeks suit you. To change your order you just need to let us know two days before delivery. For example if your delivery is on a Monday you need to change your order by 11:45pm on Saturday night.
Can I swap what's in my box?
The contents of our set veg boxes can’t be changed; we plan the crops over a year in advance, allowing us to minimise waste and keep our buying commitment to the organic farmers who help us keep our boxes full and interesting. Plus, many customers find it a great way to discover new veg and eat with the seasons. But we know its not everyone. If you like more flexibility, you can also order individual items to create your own box filled with exactly what you want. If you want a set veg box, but there’s a few items you really want to avoid, you can set up Veg Alerts in Your Account. Pick up to three fruit and veg you’d like to avoid, and we’ll let you know in your weekly order reminder email if we expect your chosen box to include them, so you can swap boxes or pause your order.
Can I build my own box?
Yes, nearly everything that goes in our set veg boxes can also be bought as an individual portion, meaning you can create a box full of exactly the fruit and veg that you want. You can also top up with other organic essentials, such as fresh bread, dairy, meat, and more. Just make sure your order meets the minimum spend of £15, and a box full of all your favourites will soon be on its way to your doorstep.
